Focused Gaussian Beam Source

Is a focused Gaussian beam source currently supported in the code? If not, are there plans to implement this in the future?

Yes, it is supported. A lot of basic components required to create different sources are included in Monte Carlo codebase. You can find a detail description of sources in Monte Carlo website.

Under "Sources.... click here", there is a description of various sources.

For a converging (focused) beam, select “DirectionalCircularSource” and assign a positive angle for “thetaConvORDiv” (See page 6). To introduce the Gaussian distribution, assign “SourceProfileType” as Gaussian and provide “beamDiaFWHM” (See page 2-4). If you need dark field illumination, you can block the photon generation in the middle by assigning "innerRadius".
